Paolo Penko creates new Medals for the Gelato Festival

The 2016 Gelato Festival medal was created from an interpretation of Italian-style gelato, piercing the silhouette on the inside, ideally filled with the “taste” of its creator.

The movement of the shape recalls a drop but also refers to the Olympic fire, symbolising the journey of discovery of flavours.
As a backdrop, many small drops of ice cream expand like an explosion of fireworks, emphasising the celebration.

The medal was created by Florentine master goldsmith Paolo Penko for the Gelato Festival 2016, in lost wax casting and embellished with the exclusive penkato technique.
