The cross of Cardinal Sabbadin
Making of Conclave
The cross was designed with strong references to the Stations of the Cross.
Its surface is crafted to simulate the wood of the Holy Cross, and upon it are placed three ancient iron nails—another instrument of the Passion—held by an interlaced design.
Their number refers both to the Trinity and to the Falls of Jesus on the way to Calvary.
This cross was worn by the actor Merab Ninidze.
