This cross depicts Christ crucified upon a burning heart, a symbol of passionate love for Jesus and a reminder of Easter and the sacrifice Jesus made for the love of humanity.
On the back of the jewel is a cross with the intertwined letters S and M, representing the initials of the papal residence
Santa Marta, and honoring the order of sisters who reside and work there.
This cross was worn by Isabella Rossellini.
