The Gold Florin to Wanny di Filippo

Wanny Di Filippo, founder and designer of the company Il Bisonte and patron of the women’s volleyball team Il Bisonte Firenze, received today in the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, on the occasion of the celebrations for San Giovanni Battista, the patron saint of Florence, the “Gold Florin of the City of Florence” made by master goldsmith Paolo Penko.

Wanny Di Filippo received the Gold Florin from the hands of the Mayor of Florence Dario Nardella, together with the president of the CNR Massimo Inguscio, the former president of the European University Institute Joseph Weiler, the anti-violence association Artemisia, the Agesci scout association of Florence and the artist Sylvano Bussotti. “St. John’s Day is now also the day of the awarding of the highest honour that the city of Florence can confer – said Mayor Nardella – A recognition to those who, with their work and their lives, have shown that they love this city and deserve in turn the love of this city. This is why we have chosen seven people or associations who each represent a world rich in values linked to personal experience”.
